DREAMVERSE 08 - To Make a World

To make a world is no small matter

It takes a certain finesse—a foolhardy resolve

To purchase something significant from the mind’s misty stores

Then, with brave focus, bring forth light from dark

To make a world is to pluck the strings of one’s soul

In hopes a pleasant sound—a moving resonance—will emerge

It is to search near and far for that satisfying blend of the familiar and strange

For a journey through treacherous waters to safe passage

It is to draw from great depths fragments of the unconscious

And, carefully, cautiously, stitch them into a meaningful pattern

Whether by words, paints, or pixels

To make a world is to open part of yourself and bid others, “Go explore!”

That is, if you don’t get lost in it first…
