something new
You may have noticed there’s a new C&B logo on the front page.
How very perceptive of you.
The old one was nice. And I’m really thankful that my friend Adam created it for me, but it felt like it was time for something new. So, I went ahead and made one myself. I hope you like it.
In other news, I’ve started making games and giving them away.
Why, you ask?
Well, with things being as crazy as they are and many people stuck at home during the pandemic, I felt inspired to start designing some simple games that folks could easily print off and play from home without having to go anywhere.
It's turning out to be a great opportunity to take some of the many vague ideas I've had for games and form them into something that's actually playable! It’s taken some work, to be sure, but I’ve been surprised at how fast the process has gone.
I think the commitment to just getting something out there, to not worry about making it perfect, and to keep it as simple as possible has really helped me speed things up.
My pal (and esteemed game artist), Andrew Bosley, has graciously offered to do the artwork for the games and host them from his site.
The first game is already finished and you can grab it right here:

Here’s the flavor text for the game, just to pique your interest:
Legend tells of a game dating even before King Arthur’s time—one played in hushed whispers by thieves and rapscallions crouching in back alleys under the flickering light of a single torch. Over time, as peasants and field laborers began to take interest, the game shed its disreputable image and was eventually favored by members of the royal court.
Now you too can play it with good-natured friends and family in the comfort of your own home. You won’t even have to worry about getting knifed and thrown in the river—hopefully.
What’s next? Most likely, more games. And more of some other things, too.
Just you wait, Henry Higgins. Just you wait.
